Description
Holly Ann Prince-Jensen and Bruce Keating McClelland know how hard it is to lose a loved one.
They also understand the difficulty in planning — and paying for — funeral arrangements at the height of grieving.
These two professional funeral directors opened Considerate Cremation & Burial Services Funeral Home in St. Catharines to make the process of honouring those important to us as simple and cost-effective as possible. Their pricing structure is approximately 30-50% less than that of a traditional funeral provider. All of their services are held off site keeping the cost down as they do not have a chapel, big elaborate visitation rooms, multiple vehicles and a large staff all of which cost money. Their business model can be summed up best by this video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g0665tkuJMU
We offer a quiet room for families to have some time with their loved one prior to cremation taking place, this allows family an opportunity to have a some private time to say goodbye as not all deaths occur in an environment that may lend itself to privacy, (example)…there could be police, EMS or firefighters attending a death at a house or even if a death occurs in a hospital there could be commotion and lack of privacy so we offer this to every family free of charge to have some closure then there is no public visitation or service involved.
Included in our service we assist in applying for the Canada Pension Death Benefit, application for Survivor’s Benefit and cancelling the health card and social insurance cards. As well we provide a comprehensive list of things that must be completed when someone passes away. We provide as a courtesy service Estate Fraud Protection Service which includes notifying the credit bureaus to prevent identity theft a walk through data assistant and supply a portfolio that allows for the estate settlement papers to be kept together. Our service includes issuing Funeral Director’s Statement Of Death Certificates (aka Death Certificates) as needed, if you need more once you start to clear the estate it’s a simply phone call and they are ready at no charge.
Unlike a traditional funeral home, our facility has a modest office. We have a reduced overhead. We don’t have a public visitation room or funeral chapel. All services and receptions are held at off-site locations such as a church, community centre/lodge hall or winery. We will co-ordinate every detail. Our charges are approximately 30-50% less than traditional funeral homes.
You will also notice that we do not utilize a cardboard container for the body to be placed in, the reason we do not use cardboard is because we do not find it to be rigid or sturdy enough to hold a decedent in a respectful dignified manner when transporting to the crematorium.
We hope you find this information helpful. Please know that we are here to assist you should you have any questions regarding any services we can offer to you from immediate cremation or burial, graveside service. memorial service, celebration of life or a full traditional funeral service.
